Bad Bart

Saw this bootleg Simpsons thing floatin' about and figured I'ld give it a go.  First thing that hit me of course was Biz's one and only Bad Boy, don't argue with a gut feeling, two knock-off's are better than one (?).  Always liked his gear and thought this was as good a time as any for a pastiche.

Had a week to do it after work with a dead computer at home so, I'll call this abandoned rather than finished, but here goes :

My take on Lord Vader, transposed to the Viking Age.

In Norse mythology, the Jǫtunn Surtr (the black one) will lead Muspelheim's sons to Ragnarök. He will "ride in front, and both before and behind him there will be burning fire [...] Light will shine from [his sword] more brightly than from the sun." "In Surtur's grasp the Sword of Revenge blazes, adding a blood red colour to the twilight of the whole world." He will defeat all of the [remaining] Æsir (the "good guys"), his fire will burn all of the heavens and the earth, save for those that sought refuge in the woods Hoddmímis holt.

GANGSTAR IV

Gangstar IV is finally out !  It seems to be getting good reviews so that's a bit of a relief, I worked on this for so long.  I look back at some of these pieces and they feel distant now.  Anyway, I can finally share some pics, here's an environment I enjoyed :

Isle of Mann TT

So it's the end of Isle of Mann TT this week (25th to 7th, the Classic'll be in late August).  I didn't make it across of course, but I will soon.  With any luck me & the brother'll make the roll-call for one of the Classics & go do a once 'round for shits & giggles as amateurs.  Wouldn't wanna go about it 300clicks+ of course, but this is something I should get done.

Saïgon Kev

An old college budy and colleague from when I was workin' in Vietnam has recently landed a new job with a somewhat ostentatious title.  While chattin' I mentioned how he was gona need a kepi or some form of official headgear now, and later I figured a painting would be good for a laugh so this caricature of him took form.  I didn't want to ask him for any photos and ruin the surprise so I sorta had to work from the few pics I had, "close enough".

On a sadder note, a friend of mine bought the farm today, been in a coma since Friday night.  Known her about 10 years, she was a couple years younger 'n me as well.  Nothin' much to share really, maybe just a song.  So long Stef.
